| The Twitter logo was changed by Elon Musk to display an "X". |
Twitter introduced its new logo X, replacing the legendary Twitter bird, or 'Larry Bird,' as it is often known. The new logo was revealed by the social networking site through its social media account. According to the modifications, the new logo consists of a white X on a black backdrop. "Nobody likes change, and truer words have never been spoken for the social media industry - of course, this move has its own set of consequences." "Seeing a sad X replace the glory of the Larry bird is unsettling," Shubham Singhal, CEO and co-founder of Dot Media, told the media
All of these events took place within 24 hours. Elon Musk, who has 149 million followers, had requested suggestions for an 'X' logo late Saturday. Since Musk's other companies use the letter 'X', it appears that he wanted to create consistency. On Sunday, he selected one of the proposals and declared it the new corporate identity of the company. The 'X' logo can now be seen on Musk's profile picture, the social network's site logo, and even loading animations. According to media sources, this new logo is just one aspect of the company's rebranding efforts since Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, established PayPal as X.com in 1999. He also renamed his second company, Space Exploration Technology Corp, to SpaceX.
However, after purchasing the social media network for $44 billion, Musk renamed the firm X Corp in October 2022. "The name change comes as no surprise; it aligns with Musk's goal of making Twitter an all-purpose app." A significant functional improvement necessitated a newer preview. It is not feasible to convert Twitter's present brand image from a quick-fire chats app to an everything app while maintaining the same identity, hence the move is acceptable. "The new name 'X' is also logically justified because 'X' can be anything," remarked Amit Dhawan, partner and CEO of Art-E.
