Chapters On Mughals Removed From Indian Curriculum

As a result of recent curriculum changes implemented by the National Council of Educational Research and Training, the Mughal Empire is no longer included in the Class 12 History curriculum (NCERT). It will be compulsory for all boards, including CBSE and UP, as well as state boards that follow the NCERT curriculum, to include the additional standards into their own curriculum.

The new educational programme will be introduced starting with the 2023–2024 academic year for students. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has removed the chapters and topics relating to "Kings and Chronicles; the Mughal Courts (C. 16th and 17th centuries)" from "Themes of Indian History-Part II" in order to comply with the updated curriculum.

The NCERT has also altered the Civics curriculum for Class 12, removing concepts such as "American hegemony in world politics" and "The Cold War Era." Among the other changes made. In addition to this, the textbook for Class 12 titled "Politics in India Since Independence" will have the chapters "Rise of popular movements" and "Era of one-party control" deleted from it.

In order to bring "Themes In World History" for Class 11 into compliance with the new curriculum, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) removed chapters titled "Central Islamic areas," "Confrontation of Civilizations," and "The Industrial Revolution."

As part of the new National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) curriculum for Class 10, the textbook "Democratic Politics-II" was updated to exclude the chapters "Democracy and diversity," "Popular conflicts and movement," and "Challenges to democracy."


Undertaken by the government of the UP

According to the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, the syllabi for the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades that are based on the NCERT will be changed to reflect the most recent advances (UP Board).
